RESEARCH REVIEW PAPER:
(Available only to students in classes not required to present a poster paper.)

You may receive credit for writing an in-depth research paper reviewing material on a physics or astronomy related topic (amount of extra credit depends on quality and depth). Your topic must be pre-approved by the instructor early in the semester. Papers must be over five pages text, typed, properly referenced, organized, and must include in addition to the 5 pages--a title page, abstract, citations, and bibliography. You are not limited to 5 pages, but quality and content are stressed.

At least two scientific journal (or popular science magazine) sources must be used and photocopies of key material from your sources must be attached. Do not use books unless they are in addition to the journal (magazine) sources.

A rough draft (with photocopies of sources) must be turned in a few weeks before the papers are due. The draft will be returned to you. Turn in the final paper upon completion, with the rough draft (and photocopies of sources) attached.

All research review papers are due the last day Extra Credit assignments are accepted as per the class callender and schedule. The rough draft is due at least two weeks before this. No Research Review Papers will be accepted unless a rough draft has been turned in!
